The client:
A large automotive part manufacturer in the Midwest.
The Problem:
They were beginning to have difficulty maintaining their discharge limits on zinc and oil & grease. With increased water usage in recent years due to the growth of the company, it was determined that their outdated system was unable to keep up with the required contaminant removal.
The Process:
Water and Wastewater Equipment Company was contacted to provide a system that could meet their increased demand.
The Solution:
The new 120 GPM system consists of a large oil/water coalescing filter, two-stage pH adjustment, inclined plate clarifier, sludge holding, and filter press with plate shifter and autopump control for sludge dewatering. The system is complete with automated PLC control panel with HMI for operator-friendly controls and monitoring.
WWE also provided a temporary mobile treatment system that was utilized during the removal of the existing system and installation/start-up of the new system, allowing for uninterrupted production in the manufacturing plant.
The new system allows the client to easily comply with their discharge limits.
